Position Description

As a Clinical Development Quality Improvement Specialist, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Lead and coordinate companywide efforts to streamline quality practices, improve operational efficiency and provide ongoing training and education
  • Build relationships with hospital staff to establish an open, collaborative and quality-driven environment 
  • Collaborate with hospitals in the development and implementation of established action plans, clinical protocols and surveillance strategies
  • Assist hospitals with the utilization of analytical tools to assess performance
  • Conduct research and communicate clinical literature findings, guidelines and evidence-based practices to be implemented
  • Provide continuous change management support to promote a culture of learning and quality

Position Requirements


This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare, quality improvement or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in clinical practice, healthcare consulting or project management
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and build relationships within complex networks
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and team-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel 20-50 percent of the time


The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Clinical background in quality and performance improvement (e.g. HAI prevention)
  • Experience with project management, consulting, mentoring, and leading multidisciplinary project teams
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodology and tools
  • Competence in statistical analysis and report writing
  • Experience with clinical process or performance improvement and technical skills related to Electronic Health Records (EHR)
